What is your favorite thing about the LPN to BSN program?

It is an eight semester program. It works in your general prerequisite courses, and it is a combination of online and in-person, and it's been wonderful. My favorite thing about the program is the leadership of the nursing program, the teachers and staff. They have been very accommodating. They want you to succeed and help you out with any problem that you have and try to troubleshoot. That's been a big plus for me.

What are your goals for obtaining your BSN?

I've been a nurse for about 13 years now. My end goal is to obtain my doctorate in nursing, so this is my next step to get to that end goal. I want to keep going through WVU and become a nurse practitioner.

Why would you recommend this program to others?

The culture, and the staff and leadership have been really top-notch.

What do you hope to do after graduation?

I'm going to continue in my line of work that I have now, which is in the emergency room.

What do you love about nursing, and why did you get into nursing to start?

Every day is different. Every person is different. That's what makes it interesting. You get to meet new people every day.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I think the friendliness and the optimism of the staff that lead the program are doing a phenomenal job with helping us in anything that we need. If you have a day or a week that you're just not sure of yourself, they find a way for you to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
