Meet Emma.
Why do you want to be a nurse?
I am hoping to have a career where I can make a difference in peoples’ lives daily. I understand what it is like to have a loved one in the hospital and the difference a great nurse can make for the patient and their family. Being in the hospital is a scary and vulnerable time and I am hoping to be able to ease that burden while advocating for every patient I have.
Why did you choose WVU School of Nursing?
I am from West Virginia and love this state. The accelerated program offered a great option to become a nurse quickly and affordably. I was excited to attend the Bridgeport program due to its small class size and convenience of being located in the hospital.
What’s the best part of the program so far?
I love the small cohort size and how attentive the professors are. I feel like they genuinely care about our success and want us to be confident and competent nurses.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I hope to work in the emergency department or trauma ICU.
