Study Abroad Scholarship

Purpose

The purpose of the Study Abroad Scholarship with the Alpha Rho Chapter - Sigma Theta Tau International is to assist the recipient with international travel aimed at impacting the health of vulnerable populations.

Amount awarded — $500.00

Qualifications

• Current membership in Alpha Rho Chapter of Sigma
• Travel destination approved by the WVU Study Abroad Program and/or WVU School of Nursing

Requirements

1. Completion of a 500 word essay
   1. Describe how the trip will align with the global health initiative outlined in the STTI “President’s Call to Action” 
2. Presentation at annual business meeting of Alpha Rho Chapter (usually held at the end of the spring semester)
   1. Provide 15-20 minute summary describing community based project
   2. Include discussion of current health issues in the region
   3. Include discussion of how the trip aligned with STTI global health initiative
3. Submit cover letter and essay to Alpha Rho leadership at wvualpharho@gmail.com at least 2 months prior to planned departure.
