Study Abroad & Global Outreach Opportunities
Have you ever wanted to travel abroad and expand your global knowledge and experience in healthcare? Did you think it wouldn’t be possible to fit into your strict nursing progression plan? You can! Students can participate in a number of global learning experiences through study abroad and outreach opportunities at West Virginia University.
Several health-related programs are offered during University breaks, providing students with valuable learning experiences that will not interfere with the School of Nursing’s rigorous course schedule.
In recent years, School of Nursing students traveled to communities across Asia, Africa, Europe and both Central and South America, visiting local hospitals and clinics to learn about various community health issues that affect those areas while being exposed to new cultures and lifestyles around the world.
If you need help determining which global program is best for you, Dana Friend, Coordinator of International Programs for the School of Nursing, can provide additional information regarding the opportunities available.
