VIDEO: Nursing faculty discuss innovative Clinical Assistant Program to support student curriculum

WVU School of Nursing faculty members discuss the Clinical Assistant (CA) program, formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which pairs sophomore students with senior leadership students for a clinical assistant day. Curriculum is enhanced for both groups, as sophomores can learn from their peers, while the seniors can reinforce their knowledge and skillset. Students are also exposed to the role of the nurse educator, which can establish a pipeline for future educational and career opportunities.

WVU in the News: Poverty simulation to be held for WVU staff

Brad Phillips, an associate dean of undergraduate programs & director of International BSN Programs in the WVU School of Nursing, served as an organizer for the event. He said that one of the main goals of this experience is to broaden the mindsets of its participants and open their eyes to the struggles of poverty.
