Chloe Monk, a new member of the Student Nurses' Association, recently joined a holiday door decorating event.

To help spread some holiday cheer, the West Virginia University Student Nurses' Association recently created door decorations for the WVU Medicine Children's Hospital

Sierra Arbaugh, Children's Hospital Representative for SNA, is currently in her pediatric rotation this semester. She said she got the idea for door decorations to help spread smiles for children in the hospital during the holidays.

"It's always difficult being in the hospital as a kid, but especially during the holidays," said Arbaugh, who currently works in the NICU. "We wanted to do this to spread some holiday cheer."

Reagan Nutter and Chloe Monk, two new SNA members, joined the festivities — both to support the Children's Hospital and to relieve stress before finals.

"I follow SNA on social and I see so much community involvement, so I wanted to join," Nutter said. "I love Christmas, so I thought this activity would be a good way to alleviate end of semester stress."

Monk agreed, adding, "I wanted to be more involved. I saw this as a good opportunity to spend time with friends in the same major, too."

Holiday trees, wreaths and snowflakes were among the designs created by student nurses.
