WVU Student Nurses’ Association to host Community Health Fair
The WVU Student Nurses’ Association will host its 2nd Annual Community Health Fair on Friday, Nov. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the WVU Recreation Center.

The WVU School of Nursing hosted two events during Diversity Week, including “Factors Influencing Faculty Decisions to Teach LGBTQ Content in Undergraduate Nursing Programs: A Journal Club Discussion” and “Overcoming Challenges Associated with Rural Nursing in Zimbabwe.”
Kimberly Wallace, a nurse practitioner and soon-to-be graduate of the WVU School of Nursing Ph.D. in Nursing program, was recently selected to present her work at the American Nephrology Nurses Association National Symposium.
Several WVU School of Nursing students volunteered during the annual WVU Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Survivor Walk on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Ruby Amphitheater at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park.
WVU and United Hospital Center are partnering to help train nurses quicker.

WVU’s Camp Kesem, an on-campus student organization that works with the National Kesem mission of being a child’s friend through and beyond their parent or guardian’s cancer, is looking for student volunteers. Camp Kesem works year-round to create a space where kids can just be kids, have fun, and be with other children who understand their family struggles.
The WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus held a White Coat and Pledge Ceremony on Oct. 4 for sophomore students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The White Coat Ceremony emphasizes compassion and the human connection from the very beginning of clinical training.
WVU School of Nursing and WVU Medicine United Hospital Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 4 in conjunction with the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce to showcase the new School of Nursing campus at Bridgeport.
Elizabeth Minchau, a clinical assistant professor and nurse practitioner in the West Virginia University School of Nursing, was recently featured in the West Virginia Nurse publication, helping to spread awareness on HIV education and prevention efforts.
