During the recent 2023 WVU Day at the Legislature, youngsters and adults alike stopped by the WVU School of Nursing table to locate a heartbeat on SAM, a Student Auscultation Manikin from the WV STEPS Center.

Four WVU School of Nursing students selected for study abroad scholarships
Four students at the West Virginia University School of Nursing have been selected to receive study abroad scholarships. Ty Flynn, Meredith Maneno and Ateria Walker will study abroad in London, and Maleah Cline will study abroad in Estonia.

Nursing student’s capstone project leads to playground improvements to increase childhood exercise
During her community placement in the Fall 2022, Rachel Gobrecht noticed many children at White Hall Elementary School near Fairmont were overweight and did not enjoy physical activity opportunities on the playground. Through her research and efforts, technology-driven physical activities are being incorporated at area playgrounds.
