Five new WVU faculty members, including Heather Carter-Templeton with the WVU School of Nursing, have been selected by the Office of the Provost following a rigorous application process as the recipients of the 2022-24 Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Applied Faculty Fellowship, a multi-disciplinary initiative to bolster WVU’s culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Five West Virginia University School of Nursing students from the Morgantown and Keyser campuses recently attended the 70th Anniversary Convention of the National Student Nurses Association. Hosted in Salt Lake City, Utah, the convention was held April 6-10 with a theme of “Here’s to the Heroes.”

The Advanced Spiritual Care course, offered by the West Virginia University School of Nursing, is designed to provide nurses with advanced knowledge and skill when providing spiritual care to their patients.
“As nurses, we know a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria—a disconnect between the gender a person identifies as and the gender assigned at birth—can be very distressing,” Smothers said. “This training is a way to build supportive communities for our gender diverse friends.”
