Nurses were invited Feb. 10 to the West Virginia State Capitol to meet with legislators, attend committee meetings and get to know nursing policy leaders during “Nurses Day at the Capitol.” Several West Virginia University School of Nursing students attended the event, including Jenna Wermers and Ateria Walker, who are members of the WVU Student Nurses Association.

As infection and hospitalization rates from COVID-19 decrease, West Virginia University will lift mask requirements for individuals in indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status, effective immediately. However, the University will continue to require masks in all classrooms, labs or any WVU System facility or building being used as a classroom. Masks will continue to be required for all persons in all indoor locations of the Health Sciences Campuses.
West Virginia University School of Nursing students are working to make Valentine’s Day a little brighter for WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital patients and residents at nursing homes. With the combined creative efforts of Morgantown Fast-Track nursing students, Beckley Campus Student Nurses Association (SNA) and Morgantown SNA, more than 500 Valentine’s cards will be delivered Feb. 14.
