Beckley students engage in art, video activities while learning nursing concepts

Students at the WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus had the opportunity at the end of the fall semester to engage in fun activities to review their nursing knowledge and skills, such as art projects and creating TikTok videos.

Lecturer Kelley Coleman said during NSG 211 clinicals, the sophomore students brought in a white t-shirt to create an outline of the heart and lungs, in as much or as little detail as they wanted to incorporate.

“The highlight of the activity is to place ‘hot spots’ on the shirt to help students learn stethoscope placement,” Coleman said. “The students absolutely loved this activity.”

Lyndsey Maiolo's t-shirt design was a class favorite.

Students also created a series of TikTok videos incorporating the knowledge they had gained throughout the semester.

“It was a great way for them to review the content while having some fun as well,” Coleman said.
