Former Miss Colorado, nurse to speak at WVU

Former Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson made headlines for her powerful monologue in the 2016 Miss America pageant. Ms. Johnson, a registered nurse, will be presenting, “I’m More Than Just a Nurse” on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, West Virginia.

School of Nursing professor to speak at national roundtable

Jennifer Mallow, PhD, FNP-BC, assistant professor at the WVU School of Nursing and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholar, will participate in a roundtable discussion on genomics and precision health at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine on Nov. 9 in Washington, D.C.

West Virginia University Health Sciences will soon open “The Rack II@HSC,” WVU Health Sciences’ Campus Food Bank, to assist with campus-wide efforts to address the growing population of homeless and/or hungry employees/students.    

School of Nursing honorary receives international award

The West Virginia University School of Nursing’s Sigma Theta Tau – Alpha Rho honorary took home its first-ever Chapter Key Award during Sigma Theta Tau International’s 43rd Biennial Convention in Las Vegas earlier this month. Alpha Rho was honored with a Chapter Key Awards which honor chapters that excel in membership recruitment/retention; publicity and programming; professional and leadership development; and local, national and international collaboration.
