Dr. Stacy Huber, clinical education associate professor with the West Virginia University School of Nursing, will be inducted into the Health Sciences Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
Hosted by the WVU Health Sciences Faculty Development Program, the induction ceremony will be held Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. in HSC North 1905. All HSC faculty, colleagues, staff and family are invited to attend.
“It is an honor and privilege to be recognized and inducted into the Academy and represent the nursing profession and the School of Nursing in the Academy,” said Huber, EdD, MSN, RN, CNE. “I am excited to collaborate with fellow members and inductees on future academic projects. It is a way for me to continue to develop in my academic role as well as utilize my knowledge and experience in working with other faculty.”
The Academy aims to foster and promote excellence in education, as well as to bring together distinguished teachers and expand mentorship and their innovations, scholarship, and ability to provide role modeling for other faculty. To be eligible, members must have made significant contributions to the development of modules for the longitudinal HSC Teaching Scholars Program.
“We are so proud of Dr. Huber. She is a visionary leader in nursing education and a role model for students and her peers,” said Dr. Heather Carter-Templeton, chair of the Adult Health Department. “Dr. Huber has consistently made lasting contributions through her work in the Adult Health Department, the School of Nursing, the Health Science Center, and the University. This invitation recognizes her extraordinary commitment to excellence in education within the health science disciplines.”
Carter-Templeton said Huber’s membership in the Academy is a great opportunity both for her as an individual and for the School of Nursing.
“The collaborative network that Dr. Huber is connected to through this program fosters and promotes excellence in education and broadens opportunities for funding,” Carter-Templeton said. “She is poised to share what she has learned through her WVU HSC Faculty Development Program while functioning in her leadership roles as a course coordinator and Director of Honors in the School of Nursing as well as through her scholarship.”
