WVU School of Nursing Pledge Ceremony
On Friday, September 29, 2017, the WVU School of Nursing will welcome the BSN sophomore class of May 2020 to the study of nursing at the Gold-AACN White Coat Ceremony for Nursing (Nursing Pledge Ceremony.) This ceremony was made possible with a grant from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation to support the Gold-AACN White Coat Ceremony for Nursing.
To allow us to properly plan for our Pledge ceremony, we ask that participants, including students and faculty to RSVP accordingly below. We invite all BSN students who began in fall 2017 to complete the form before September 13, 2017.
Additional Ceremony Information
Parking is available at the regular rate as space permits in Mountaineer Station beginning at 4:30 pm. Please car pool to allow for parking for all students and guests. For students who have a parking pass for lot 81, please park in your assigned lot to allow additional spaces in the parking garage. Drivers can drop guests who require ambulatory assistance at the Pylons Entrance prior to parking. Please have driver inform the security guard at the parking booth they are making a drop off and will then proceed to Mountaineer Station. For additional information regarding parking at Mountaineer Station, please visit the WVU Transportation and Parking website.
Guests parking in Mountaineer Station can take the elevator or stairs to the PRT bridge and follow the covered walkway to the Pylons Entrance and to the Okey Patteson Auditorium.
Please make sure you are registered by 4:45 pm – registration will be held in the foyer of the Okey Patteson Auditorium.
Line-up for the ceremony begins promptly at 5:00 pm – lineup will be held in the hallway outside the commons area between the SOD and SOP (you will receive a separate email containing the document for line-up order and seating)
Ceremony begins promptly at 5:30 pm (please be sure to review the coming email for information on diagram for processional, recitation of nursing pledge, presentation of name card, directional walking flow for signing the SON Pledge book, photograph, and recessional)
Reception immediately following ceremony in the Commons Area.
Required Dress Code
The dress code for the Pledge Ceremony is professional attire with your white lab coat. Professional attire for this event is defined as a dress or skirt (not any higher than the top of the knee), suit, sports jacket, or dress pants and shirt. Please make sure your lab coat is clean, pressed and in good repair. Make sure your shoes are comfortable enough to walk the steps in the Okey Patteson Auditorium and to walk across the stage gracefully.
