Health Storytelling Workshop at HSC Jan. 25

Everyone’s got a story to tell. And in healthcare, telling and listening to stories is often a key to healing.

You can learn more, and develop your own talents for storytelling, in a workshop hosted by Renee Nicholson of the Eberly College of Arts & Sciences Wednesday Jan. 25 at 12 noon in the John Jones Conference Center (near The Market on the ground floor of Health Sciences.)

Students, faculty, and staff with an interest in storytelling are welcome to attend. The session will be limited to the first 20 people to register. No previous experience in writing or storytelling is required.

Professor Nicholson is the leader of the narrative medicine project at the WVU Cancer Institute, along with Dr. Carl Gray of the School of Medicine. She will be joined by Nancy Andrews of the Reed College of Media who will add a visual component to the experience.

More storytelling sessions will be held through the Spring 2017 semester.
